DUI Arrest with Child Passengers

Posted by John Tymczyszyn | Aug 20, 2018 | 0 Comments

What happens when you get pulled over for a DUI and have children present in the vehicle as passengers? You are facing more charges than just a DUI. The number of DUI arrests in Western Washington are rising alone but a DUI arrest with children as passengers has more than doubled. Authorities stated that they normally make 30 DUI arrests with minors in an entire year but have made more than that already this year with the number expected to grow.

If you are pulled over for a DUI with children in the car, you may be charged with a count of reckless endangerment for each minor present in the vehicle. Child Protective Services may also be involved in these cases increasing the hassle for you, fees and penalties as well as criminal charges.

It is important to note that while there is increased DUI patrol out now, you are at a greater risk for getting pulled over so don't face worse charges by driving with minors while you are drinking.
