In 2013 the City of Kirkland gave out 387 DUI's. This is compared to the City of Bellevue's 218 DUI's in 2013. The City of Kirkland gave out more than one DUI per day in 2013. Additionally, the City of Kirkland has a population of approximately 85,000 people, compared to 135,000 people in Bellevue.
Based on these statistics 1 in every 220 residents of Kirkland received a DUI in 2013. This is in stark contrast to 1 in every 620 Bellevue residents that got a DUI in Bellevue in 2013. As you can see not all jurisdictions are equal. Some jurisdictions like the City of Kirkland seem to have much stricter policies and enforcement of DUI laws.
Kirkland DUI statistics can be seen HERE
Woodenville Washington currently has a population of around 12,000 people. In 2013 Woodinville gave out 29 DUI's. This would be 1 DUI for every 413 residents. Redmond, with 60,000 people gave out 91 DUI's, this is 1 DUI from every 660 people.
Renton Washington has around 100,000 people and gave out 156 DUI's in 2013. That is 1 DUI for every 641 residents. Cities like Bellevue and Renton seem to be pretty consistent and similar to each other with the number of DUI's they give out. Obviously everyone who gets a DUI in Kirkland is not a Kirkland resident, but this does present questions. Why is the City of Kirkland on such a DUI rampage lately?
