Speed cameras: Driver teaches city a lesson about speeding in Seattle school zones

Posted by John Tymczyszyn | Jul 08, 2014 | 0 Comments

There has been 70,000 drivers ticketed by speeding cameras in Seattle.  The fine is generally $189 for speeding tickets like this. A Ballard Resident and attorney received one of these tickets and chose to fight it. He Won! His argument was that the signs around the school had too many words and were confusing to drivers.  He was able to demonstrate that these speeding tickets were unjust.

One driver commented on the article saying "They turn those cameras on early in the morning, before those lights are flashing, and long before any children are present.  Then they falsely accuse you of speeding through a school zone, and expect you to either pay the fine, or take a day off work to defend yourself in court."

This drivers frustrations are common.  He was unaware that you can hire a traffic ticket attorney like www.JohnTLaw. com for as little as $200 and not take the day off work.  The goal of a traffic ticket attorney is clear, protect your driving record and keep your insurance rates low.

Many readers commented on the article and accused the City of Seattle of using the cameras to generate city revenue with speeding tickets.  One reader commented "Ok if this was really about safety of our school kids, then why don't they take that revenue from the tickets and build overpasses for the kids to use?"

I think she has a good point. These 70,000 tickets have generated millions of dollars for the city of Seattle and we do not know if any measures have been taken to increase child safety. The full article about this layer and his speeding ticket is below.
